Rutland 913 Windcharger

There are lots of wind generators on the market today. Why should you choose the Rutland 913? No other micro wind generator gives you all the features you want in one unit.

arrow Low wind speed output: Although many others claim higher output; it is only at high wind speeds that they exceed the Rutland then they stall between gusts. In the real world, most of your time is probably spent in the shelter of an anchorage or under sail. The Rutland 913's high inertia generator starts producing power at 4 MPH. At 10MPH it produces 2 amps@12v and 4 amps at 15 MPH increasing to 7.5 amps at 22 MPH. The Rutland 913 outperforms all others in real cruising conditions yet withstands gale force winds unattended.

arrow Quiet: You have probably noticed the sounds of wind generators. Some scream all night while others sound like a helicopter landing. When you install a wind generator, you'll be living with it day in and out whenever you're cruising and noise level should be a consideration. The chart below shows the relative noise level of popular wind generators (for comparison; normal conversation level is 65 decibels). The Rutland 913 is by far the quietest generator on the market.

arrow Size: At only 36" diameter the Rutland is the smallest generator. This means that it needn't dominate the stern area of your boat. It means less windage and weight aloft and it makes installation easier on mizzen masts etc. If safety, convenience and aesthetics count for anything; the Rutland 913 will be your choice.

arrow Reliability: The Rutland 913 features marine grade materials and stainless steel fittings throughout. The 3 phase generator windings are completely sealed in GRP and computer designed aerofoil blades built to withstand loading 10x the turbine's maximum rpm. The Rutland 913 is manufactured by Marlec Engineering Co Ltd. Marlec has been building wind chargers and distributing worldwide since 1979 and have ISO9001 accreditation. Installation of the charger and the recommended shunt/regulator can easily be completed in 3- 4 hours. The Rutland 913 requires very little maintenance and has a 24 month warranty. Clearly, the Rutland 913 delivers the most power for the lowest cost.

Rutland HRS/12 & HRS/24 Regulator

The HRS Regulator incorporates the latest Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology to regulate charge to the battery. The HRS combines the Windcharger and solar panel input for single batttery bank charging with two tri-colour LED's to indicate charging status and battery voltage. The PWM electronic charge regulator tapers charge to the battery to limit current and avoid battery overcharge. When regulating, the Windcharger speed is reduced. A built in blocking diode protects the HRS and Windcharger from other charge sources to the battery such as the engine. The HRS is designed for a single battery bank and for use with the Rutland 503 and 913 plus up to 100w of solar. It is designed to be wall mounted and has a simple 3 wire flying lead connection.

The Upper LED indicates System Status
Green: Charging
Amber: Charging & Regulating
Red: Regulating

The Lower LED indicates Battery Voltage
Green: Greater than 13 (or 26*)
Amber: 12 - 13 (or 24 - 26*)
Red: Less than 12 (or 24*)

* 24 Volt System

The dimensions for the HRS are 3" wide, 5 7/8" high, 1 3/8" deep.

HRSi 913 12 volt Regulator

Now you can regulate input from the Rutland 913 AND up to 160 watts of solar panels.

Features:
Pulse Width Modulation improved to reduce wind & solar input to a “float stage”as batteries reach capacity

LED indicators keep the user informed as to battery condition and charge status

Manual shut-down switch allows thew user to manually stop charge from both wind and solar panels slowing the wind generator to an “idle”

Temperature Compensation automatically adjusts regulator settings to maximise charging in all ambient temperatures.

Automatic Voltage detection makes the HRSi functional for either 12 or 24 volt systems

Internal Blocking Diodes prevent conflicts with other charge sources such as HO alternators, shore power and independent solar arrays.

User Voltage Programme allows you to reset voltage cut-in levels using a variable DC voltage power supply.

Rutland HRDX/12 & HRDX/24 Charge Controller

The HRDX Controller incorporates the latest Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology to regulate charge to the battery. Windcharger and solar panel input and dual battery output features with a selectable LCD display gives complete battery management control for your renewable energy system. The PWM electronic charge regulator tapers charge to the battery to limit current and avoid battery overcharge. When regulating, the Windcharger speed is reduced. The standard regulator cut-in level is 13.8V and fully on at 14.4V for 12V systems. It has a built in charge splitter for 2 isolated battery banks. There is a 5 position switch for LCD digital display of Windcharge current, Solar current, Net charge current, Battery 1 voltage and Battery 2 voltage. It is also equiped with a source shutdown switch. The HRDX is wall mounted and designed for use with the 503 and 913 plus up to 100w of solar panels.
