Many people don't realize that standard sailboat props are a compromise between drag and thrust, satisfying neither particularly well. The benefit of a Flexofold prop is that it optimizes both. Meaning that not only do you benefit while sailing (from the significantly reduced drag), but you'll also see performance benefit while motoring (as well as the increased fuel economy that comes with it). The bladed are bigger and have a better hydrodynamic profile than fixed-blade sailboat props, presenting more swept-area for increased efficiency.
