Marine crew communication

Marine Headsets & Boat Intercom Systems

Clear headset communication for cruisers, crews, coaches, and marine operators who are tired of yelling across the boat.

For most cruising couples, the right place to start is the 2Talk Marriage Saver Pair: a Bluetooth intercom pair built for calm helm-to-bow communication while docking, anchoring, mooring, locking, and handling lines.

For larger crews, compare the standard Mesh crew kits. Choose NautiTalk Bosun when IPX7 waterproofing and marker-buoy flotation are the priority. Choose NautiTalk N2R when hearing protection and wired two-way-radio push-to-talk matter; a radio-specific cable is sold separately. For heavy-duty hearing protection in consistently loud environments, choose TuffTalk M.

Choose the Right Setup

Choosing the right marine headset depends on crew size, operating environment, and whether you need waterproofing, hearing protection, or wired two-way-radio integration.

Single 2Talk Marriage Saver Bluetooth boat headset

2Talk Marriage Saver Pair

For most cruising couples, the best place to start is the 2Talk Marriage Saver Pair. It keeps helm-to-bow communication calm and clear while docking, anchoring, mooring, passing through locks, or handling lines.

Best for cruising couples and two-person crews. Full-duplex and purpose-built for the everyday communication problems aboard a boat.

Single standard Mesh crew communication headset

Standard Mesh Crew Kits

Choose a standard Mesh crew kit when several crew members need to communicate at the same time. Mesh makes it easier to coordinate larger crews without hand signals or shouting across the boat.

Best for crews of more than four people, including race crews, sailing schools, coaches, fishing crews, training programs, and larger cruising boats.

Single Sena NautiTalk Bosun IPX7 Mesh headset with marker buoy for flotation

NautiTalk Bosun

The NautiTalk Bosun is designed for larger crews working in wet marine conditions. Choose Bosun when waterproof construction is the priority and several people need dependable communication on deck.

Best for larger crews that need waterproof headsets. IPX7 submersible, UV stabilized, and floats when the marker buoy is attached. It uses low-profile marine Mesh communication.

Single Sena NautiTalk N2R marine Mesh hearing-protection headset

NautiTalk N2R

Choose the NautiTalk N2R when crew members need hearing protection plus wired two-way-radio integration and headset push-to-talk controls. A radio-specific cable is sold separately. It is a separate product category from Bosun.

Best for hearing protection and wired two-way-radio integration on louder boats, with Mesh communication, Advanced Noise Control, and a cable selected for the connected radio.

Single Sena TuffTalk M Mesh hearing-protection intercom headset

TuffTalk M

TuffTalk M is the strongest option for demanding environments where substantial hearing protection is required. It suits engine rooms, boatyards, industrial work areas, and consistently loud locations.

Best for loud, heavy-duty working environments where a rugged over-ear headset and multi-person Mesh communication matter more than waterproof floating construction.

Quick pick: 2Talk for cruising couples, standard Mesh kits for bigger crews, Bosun for IPX7 protection and marker-buoy flotation, N2R for hearing protection plus wired radio integration, and TuffTalk M for heavy-duty noise protection.

Frequently asked questions

Waterproof or water-resistant?

Bosun has the strongest water claim in this collection: IPX7 submersible waterproof, floating, and UV stabilized. 2Talk and similar Bluetooth headsets are water-resistant, not floating/submersible. TuffTalk and N2R should be chosen mainly for hearing protection and communication in noise, not as replacements for a floating waterproof headset.

Pair, single headset, or multi-pack?

Buy a pair if you are starting from scratch and need two people connected. Buy a single headset only if you are adding to a compatible setup you already own. Buy a 4-pack or 6-pack when the system is for a crew, team, school, charter, or commercial operation.

Are the different headset families compatible with each other?

Do not assume every Bluetooth, Mesh, NautiTalk, and TuffTalk product will connect to every other model. Compatibility depends on the product family and communication mode. If you are mixing old and new headsets, contact us before ordering.

Do these headsets need cell service or Wi-Fi?

No. These are headset intercom systems. Bluetooth and Mesh communication are local headset-to-headset communication methods, not phone calls over cellular service.

Ordering for a crew, school, charter, or commercial boat?

Tell us how many people need headsets, what models you already have, how loud the environment is, and how the system will be used. We can help narrow down the right package before you order.
