M1 or M2?

Both are built to set fast. The real choice is how the anchor fits your bow and where you anchor.

Match both boat length and displacement

These are Mantus starting points for an M1 working anchor or M2 cruising anchor. Pick the larger size if your boat falls between rows.

Move up for more exposure Heavy displacement, high windage, strong current, poor bottoms, and frequent overnight anchoring need more margin.
Check the whole bow setup Confirm roller clearance, windlass capacity, chain size, and locker space before choosing a larger anchor.
Use the storm row when needed Every anchor page carries Mantus day, working or cruising, and storm recommendations for that exact weight.

Under 20 ft? Start with the small-boat range or use the compact kit for a tender.

M1 rows use Mantus' Working category (under 40 knots); M2 rows use the Cruising category (under 50 knots). Use the exact product page table for day or storm sizing.

Mantus anchor FAQ

How do I pick the right size?

Mantus publishes sizing by boat length and displacement for day (winds under 30 kt), cruising (under 50 kt), and storm use, assuming poor holding ground. The table is on every anchor page. Between sizes? Size up.

Galvanized or stainless?

Within each line the geometry is identical. Hot-dip galvanized is the value pick and shrugs off hard use; polished stainless adds corrosion resistance and bow appeal. Both carry the manufacturer lifetime warranty.

Will it fit my bow roller?

The roll-bar-free M2 Performance is built for bow rollers, pulpits, and bowsprits; the classic M1 Performance uses a roll bar, so check clearance above the roller. Both break down for storage. Unsure? Send us a photo of your bow and we'll check the fit.
