A portable fire extinguisher containing AVD (Aqueous Vermiculite Dispersion) agent, that is designed to address the thermal runaway of lithium battery fires.  Suitable for lithium battery (i.e., Li-ion and Li-poly), electrical, and class A fires.  Environmentally responsible with no GWP (Global Warming Potential) while non-toxic to people, animals, and plant life. 

The extensive use and popularity of products with lithium battery technology obscures their fire risk.  Lithium battery fires are extremely dangerous, fast to accelerate, and tough to combat.  The fires are driven by “thermal runaway” caused by cell failure from damage, defect, short circuit, overcharging, and overheating.  Thermal runaway is when heat released during cell failure damages nearby cells releasing more heat in a chain reaction, thus extending the fire’s life and volatility.
